Dr. Ran Ju will present findings on social media from ten years of recent research. The findings provide a macro-level understanding of social media from a public relations perspective and can provide insights for practitioners.

Our Presenter:
Ran Ju, PhD, APR
Assistant Professor, School of Communication Studies, Mount Royal University
Dr. Ran Ju earned her Ph.D. from Scripps College of Communication, Ohio University. Ran is an Assistant Professor of Public Relations at the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies, Mount Royal University. She also earned the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS). Her research interest is in public relations for the public good and she is particularly interested in social media’s role in this context. Her research explores topics such as corporate social responsibility communication on social media, mental health promotion on social media and acculturation through social media.
Ran has held multiple research grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). She has published in multiple peer-review journals such as Health Communication, Public Relations Review, International Journal of Communication and Journal of Public Relations Education. She also serves as the Communication Sector Editor of Sage Open journal.
