This third installment of CPRS Calgary’s Politics & PR sessions will be a webinar featuring four Mount Royal University professors – who also happen to be four of the best-known political observers, commentators, and researchers on Alberta politics and political communications.

Join us Wednesday, May 17th, at 5:30pm, as Lori Williams hosts Brad Clark, Brooks DeCillia, and Peter Ryan (APR, and CPRS Calgary board member) help us set the scene for the upcoming Alberta provincial election.

Drawing on the findings published in their recent book on the Alberta 2019 election, The Blue Storm: The Rise and Fall of Jason Kenney (University of Calgary Press, 2023), our panelists will examine the messages, media, polls and motivators of Alberta’s major political parties during the 2019 election, to compare how each are influencing communications strategies in the upcoming 2023 campaign, and will continue to influence government public relations after the votes are cast.

In addition to the 2019 data, the panelists will analyze some of the most recent polls, media scans, and survey results, and engage in an open Q&A/discussion, helping to prepare communicators for supporting organizations in the developing political context.
