Welcome to 2017! I hope all members enjoyed some down time with family and friends over the holidays and are ready and energized to take on the New Year.
This year, CPRS Calgary will continue to focus on providing value to members as we work to achieve the objectives set out at our 2016 Annual General Meeting. Some of the initiatives that are already underway and will be continued in 2017 include:
Increase member feedback and engagement
- Enhance and consolidate formal communications
- Align with CPRS National’s editorial calendar
- Establish sub-committees for each Board portfolio to minimize workload and engage more volunteers
Build and maintain financial stability
- Evaluate event pricing to ensure it remains affordable while still covering costs
- Utilize a standard event venue to leverage contract pricing
Ensure value for money for members
- Enhance membership surveys to really understand what members want. Keep an eye on your inbox in early 2017 for our membership survey!
- Provide increased opportunities for members to connect with each other and with the Society throughout the year
Develop and sustain efficient and effective Board governance processes and procedures
- Offer more to the membership by establishing sub-committees that spread out the volunteer workload in each portfolio
Increase relevance to all levels of members
- Hold a combination of lunch-n-learns, case studies and social events and look to our members first for event speakers
- Find opportunities to partner with members for mentorship of junior members
It is a great time to be part of our society! There’s lots to be excited about in 2017 and I look forward to connecting and reconnecting with many of you in the coming months.
As mentioned above, we will be sending out a survey to members that will help us gauge engagement and overall satisfaction. Please use this as an opportunity to share your experience, your suggestions and your feedback so we can work toward enhancing the member experience for all.
