Dr. Ran Ju is a new CPRS Boarder Member, elected in 2022, and a recent APR. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Relations at Mount Royal University, where she teaches Introduction to Public Relations, Research Methods for Public Relations and Strategic Social Media for Public Relations.
Dr. Ju earned her Ph.D. from Scripps College of Communication, Ohio University, USA. Her research interest is in public relations for the public good and she is particularly interested in social media’s role in this context. Her research explores topics such as corporate social responsibility communication on social media, mental health promotion on social media and acculturation through social media.
Ran has held multiple research grants from different agencies including the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and Zhejiang Academy of Social Sciences, China. She has published in multiple peer-review journals such as Public Relations Review, International Journal of Communication, Health Communication, and Journal of Public Relations Education. Her research has been presented at different domestic and international communication conferences and has won several top paper awards from these conferences.
