Gina landed a communications job in Canada’s livestock industry more than a decade ago and never looked back, finding the collaborative nature, and often international scope, of working with industry and
governments to her liking. She transitioned to communications and public relations following a successful career in journalism that involved many adventures, including eight years as a business reporter producing award-winning copy at a leading Canadian daily newspaper.

Gina’s broad experience evolved to encompass the non-profit sector, industry association advocacy, stakeholder relations and engagement, workshop facilitation, and project work. She is experienced in public trust, branding and reputation management, and crises and issues management. Emergency management remains a focus of her current work delivering practical and proactive resources created for Canada’s livestock producers and industry.

Gina joined the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) Calgary Society’s Board of Directors in 2019 and oversees the sponsorship and promotion portfolio. She received her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) designation from CPRS the same year. Gina has a Basic Public Relations Certificate and a Journalism Diploma from the former Mount Royal College (now Mount Royal University) in Calgary.

She enjoys a busy family life and taking many new adventures with her partner.
