Devon - Manager Corporate Communications

Job Description

Devon Canada has a new and unique opportunity for an accomplished communications professional to provide leadership and guidance to an established corporate communications team. This role is accountable to drive all internal and external corporate communications programs for Devon in Canada. The team plays a key support function within Devon and the Manager Corporate Communications will be responsible for ensuring continued alignment with Devon’s business objectives.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of high performance communication professionals
  • Develop and implement communication plans for corporate internal and external communications initiatives
  • Build relationships and collaborate with key internal stakeholders to advance and execute employee engagement strategies and tactics
  • Recommend, plan and execute programs to amplify Devon’s reputation with external stakeholders
  • Oversee all aspects of Devon’s brand in Canada
  • Partner with public affairs/government relations function
  • Collaborate and support the Devon Energy Corporate Communications function

Key Competencies:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in communications or a related field
  • 10-15 years’ experience in various aspects of the internal and external communications field
  • Oil and gas industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience is essential
  • Superior interpersonal, consultative, and written communication skills
  • Proven track record in a complex, challenging environment
